Benan’s Fish & Chips

This is a really good place for Fish'n'Chips and for dinning in. I'm a fussy customer and I am so pleased i can come back to this place now time and again. My parents used to rave about Mehmet and his place but I only visited a week ago with my mum and I understood why. Let's talk about the interior: there was no odour of frying oil or any fish cooking - it was a pleasant resteraunt not takeaway type ambiance. The toilets were clean and fresh. Now the food: We both had medium sized cod and they were plenty. The cod was tasty: the flavour of the fish meat; the batter fluffy light but crispy. No pool of frying oil on the plate you'd typically get in other places! Very nice indeed. Chips served piping hot, were thick and full cuts no wispy cuts that makes the dish look cheap. The table clean; condiments bottles clean no stickiness. The vinegar was potent not diluted which for me was a sure sign the manager knows how to appreciate custom with this simplest gesture of hospitality and generosity. Now I know why my late Dad appreciated your place. Thanks Mehmet for looking after Mum&Dad on their almost weekly visits all these years. You now have one more fan from our family :)

Popped into this lovely place after visiting Claremont Landscape Garden. Ordered a medium cod and chips, very generous portion and the cod was perfectly tender. Will definitely visit again if I’m in the area. Fast and efficient service too.

Hi Dear Benan, I was very pleased with the service you provided to the employee and manager of the S. Chips. The fish was delicious, the taste was wonderful, the sauce was wonderful, and the chicken burger was soft. I also recommend chicken burger lovers to go there. First of all, your friendly service made me very happy. I hope to see you again.

The fish and chips were absolutely delicious, and the battered prawns were equally delightful. Both dishes exceeded my expectations in terms of taste and quality. The portion sizes were also quite satisfying, ensuring that I left the meal feeling fully satisfied.

Best fish and chips we had in a long time! Lovely gentleman serving, the fish and the chips were not greasy at all which is very hard to get. Wish we lived closer!

Had a really nice lunch here. The portion size was good and the cod tasted amazing. Price was fair. We dined in and it's nicely designed with very friendly staff.

5 stars all around! The service was amazing, all the staff super friendly and the fish and chips went down a treat! The batter on the medium fish was still crispy by the time I got home, good quality fish (The slice of lemon and tartar sauce included was a fantastic touch). The chips were cooked to perfection and a good size portion. The tables and chairs looked inviting to sit in to enjoy the food.
